Spacious room with a comfy bed. The breakfast options were limited and the decor felt outdated. Great parking available behind the hotel.

Great food but noisy nights
We stayed for 2 nights in a double room. The food was actually really good and the staff were super friendly. But man, the noise from the party outside was insane! Had to go out wandering the streets just to get some peace. Not what we expected for a hotel experience.

The stay was quite pleasant overall. The room was spacious and comfortable, which was a relief after a long day exploring the local attractions. The bar area had a fantastic vibe, and the food options were excellent. the decor felt a bit dated and could use some freshening up. The lighting in the room was also too dim, making it hard to get ready in the morning.

I recently stayed at The Merlin for a night. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Alderley Edge. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff greeted me warmly. I appreciated the spacious double room I had. it was comfortable and nicely decorated. the flooring was extremely creaky, and I could hear noise from the corridors quite easily. A birthday party outside made it difficult to sleep as the music played until late. I also found hair in my bed and shower, which raised cleanliness concerns. The lighting was quite dim, making it hard to navigate at night. I really think the hotel could benefit from better sound insulation and thorough cleaning. the staff were friendly and attentive, making an effort to improve my stay. The breakfast was decent, with a limited selection but perfectly satisfying.

It was just a strong match for a lightning stop in Alderley Edge with excellent value for money. The food at breakfast was okay and the meal I had the night before was very good value. Avoid the room near the stairs if you can.

The family room offered ample space for our crew, with a layout catering well to our needs. The pub downstairs had a cozy vibe, making it a decent spot for post-dinner drinks.
The noise level from the main road was pretty disruptive, with sounds from the bar carrying on until well past midnight, making it tough for the kids to snooze. The sofa bed was far from comfortable, creaking loudly every time our daughters shifted, further hampering their rest. Cleanup seemed to lack attention, as there were signs of dust and dirt in corners throughout the room, which wasn't ideal for our stay. having no phone to contact reception meant trudging downstairs for any concerns, which became a hassle, especially when the heating was out of order during our stay.

Comfortable room and excellent staff service
I recently stayed for one night in a Double Room, and I was pleasantly surprised by the size and comfort of the room. The staff were genuinely accommodating, and I enjoyed a delightful meal in the bar area. The warm shower was a refreshing end to a long day, but I found the lighting in the room a bit dim, which made it tricky to get ready in the morning.
